Chicken Little, a Nugget of Wisdom!

One of my favorite characters from my childhood is Chicken Little. For you Brits, it's Henny Penny. What a bird! If you are unfamiliar with the story, it's about a chicken who predicts the end of the world.

Here is a brief summary: Chicken Little is out for a walk and an acorn bops her on the head. She thinks the sky is falling and tries to warn everyone, but nobody believes her. As a responsible chicken, she insists, "The sky is falling, I must warn the king!"

WHY did no one believe her? After all, CL had proof. She had the acorn. How much more evidence did she need? Could it have been her size? Perhaps it was her race? All the other poultry, Ducky Lucky, Goosey Loosey, Gander Lander, and Turkey Lurkey, thought she was crazy. But they followed along, just in case, until the group reached Foxy Loxy, and the rest is history.

Such a tragic but realistic ending. I think if CL had weighed the evidence, she might have lived to lay an egg or two, and so might have the other birds!
