Going Places

I grew up in Abbeville, Louisiana, population +/- 10,000 at low tide. I graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, 20 miles due north, with a degree in French and English. I taught French and English at Carencro High School, about 8 miles northeast of Lafayette. Then in a spirit of adventure, I moved to the Republic of Panama to teach with the United Fruit Company in the tiny port town of Almirante in Bocas del Toro province, about 3000 miles southeast of Carencro. Then I moved to Panama City, Panama, about 365 miles southeast of Almirante, and taught at a bunch of schools there, but after a 30-year teaching career, I now live with my husband in Boquete, Panama, about 300 miles west of Panama City, and dedicate my time to writing bilingual children’s stories and to laughing, especially at myself. I have always loved languages and the etymology of words, but I love to travel too and have been pretty much all over the world.
